Greywater for a Parched Planet: Quenching California’s Thirst for lush landscapes and local food production November 17, 2009 6:00 pm Reception; 6:30 pm Lecture AIA San Francisco 130 Sutter Street, Suite 600
As the water crisis drags on, greywater has jumped into the fray as California’s most reliable non-potable water source. And thanks to the recent ruling on August 4th, by the California Building Standards Commission (CBSC), it is now affordable for residential customers to install single fixture, ‘laundry to landscape’ greywater systems - no permit required. But the brouhaha over permitting is still raging. Many counties are still requiring expensive perk tests for even the simplest of systems.
Please join us for a lively discussion on model greywater ordinances, and the latest thinking in ecological landscapes, including furturistic schemes for vertical farming in high density residential developments.
