Architects and interior designers bring different strengths and perspectives to projects. Join this panel discussion as it explores how architects and interior designers have successfully collaborated on diverse projects. Two Architect-Interior Designer teams will present exemplary projects and discuss their working relationship. Projects presented include hospitality and commercial interiors.
Discussion topics are:
How to form a design team with complementary expertise and vision.
How to define roles, responsibilities and communication protocol.
How to collaboratively create design consensus among the team.
How the combined application of resources of each firm results in project success.
Stephen J. Farneth, FAIA, LEED AP, a founding principal of San Francisco-based Architectural Resources Group, is a nationally-recognized expert in the design and rehabilitation of architecturally significant buildings and sites.
Stanford Hughes joined Richard Brayton to form BraytonHughes Design Studios in 1990. Mr. Hughes is a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects and sits on the Advisory Board of the University of California’s Extension Program for Interior Design. Mr. Hughes’ work includes numerous award-winning projects for private clubs, hotels, executive offices, residences, and historic renovations.
David Hecht is a principal at TANNERHECHT Architecture and manages their San Francisco office. Mr. Hecht’s design and building experience range from single-family homes and multi-family buildings to institutional and commercial interior architecture projects, which have been honored with design awards and published internationally.
Gail Gordon, LEED AP, is a principal at Gail Gordon Design. Ms. Gordon’s extensive experience includes commercial and institutional projects. Her interiors projects have received awards and appeared in publications.
