The best local architecture was featured through a wide range of over 80+ unique tours by land and by sea. Conference attendees experienced icons, historical landmarks, new builds, tech giants, award winners, and more that defined San Francisco’s skyline and the urban fabric of its neighborhoods and communities.

Located in the North Lobby of the Moscone Center, the AIASF Community Hearth offered conference attendees an experience that featured a wide variety of architectural design talent from San Francisco that celebrates great design, revealing ways it continues to contribute to our unique quality of life.
As the host chapter of the conference, the AIASF Community Hearth aimed to not only be a point of departure for picking up tour shuttles, but served as a point of arrival and a space of respite and gathering.
Virtual exhibitions were featured throughout the duration of the conference and displayed top-notch projects from a variety of student groups from the Architectural Foundation of San Francisco, Academy of Art University, California College of the Arts, and UC Berkeley.
The A’23 AIA San Francisco Community Hearth was designed by our partners, Y.A. Studio, Habitat Horticulture and Academy of Art University students, as part of B. Lab, a design-build program promoting social justice for local communities and advocacy for future designers.

The National AIA Conference kicked things off with a San Francisco bang! Conference attendees joined fellow LGBTQ+ conference allies, local LGBTQ architects, designers, builders, and community leaders for an evening of networking and community building from the rooftop of SWA Group's San Francisco studio near Union Square.

Hosted by AIASF Bay Area Young Architects (BAYA) and AIASF Mentorship Knowledge Communities, the Center for Architecture + Design was included in this Open Studio Night which was part of a collection of firms located in architecturally significant buildings. Attendees had a chance to meet ambassadors of some of AIASF's Knowledge Communities while getting an early preview of the new Center for Architecture + Design.
