2020 Architecture Merit Award
A private school with a public purpose, Lick-Wilmerding High School is founded upon a legacy of serving, and being enriched by, students from all walks of life. This renovated historic classroom building celebrates the school’s mission with a new entry, spaces for multidisciplinary learning, and prominent Center for Civic Engagement.
The second-floor addition gives the campus an urban scale and a handsome street presence. The jury wondered what student wouldn't feel lucky and inspired to be here? Lick's historic commitment to creativity and craft is expressed in a dramatically modern way.
