The design team endeavored to design a three-unit residential building from an ordinary single-family home that was suffering from years of neglect. While different in size, each unit would be unique and of the same quality, design and finish to enhance a sense of community among the residents.

The jury admired this integration of three units – united through a consistency in the palette of materials and modularity of space – where a lovely range is still carved out for each space so that they feel distinct. The material palette is simple and well-calibrated to the location. This project features wonderful light animation, richness, clarity, and directness that result in a restrained balance and unique elegance.
