Transforming how we design and build.
AIASF in collaboration with the Center for Architecture + Design and the AIASF Design Technology Committee presents the 2022 Design Technology Symposium at the Autodesk Gallery. Join us for a deep-dive into current and upcoming technology for building design, civil infrastructure, construction, and building operations. We'll take a look at how new software and services are changing the way we design, build, and maintain the complete life cycle of the buildings in which we live and work.
This year's Symposium aims to address state-of-the-art collaborative methods that yield the most beneficial results as defined by three fundamental goals: design quality; business success; and strength of relationships. Panelists will address computer-based tools, modeling programs — formal and computational — and online platforms that aid in project delivery, focusing on how these methods enhance the collaboration between architects, engineers, general contractors, and their clients.
A roundtable of experts will contribute to this conversation on the future of design and construction and how to enhance cross-collaboration and work relationships.
Learning Objectives (6 LU)
1. Develop ideas where architects and contractors can be effectively “partnered,” regardless of their contractual obligations, through Design Build or other delivery methods;
2. Explore how delivery of on-time, on-budget work requires collaboration with differing views while aiming to offer ways to contribute to the delivery process;
3. Discuss current and evolving technologies that will permit communication to flow more easily than traditional methods;
4. Encourage commitment to shared purpose, open communication and mutual respect towards more efficiently and effectively realize projects that are well-designed, sustainable and financially rewarding than can be achieved by more conventional methods thus representing the future of the practice.
