Design for Integration | AIA CA Climate Action Webinar Series (1 LU/HSW)

Description

Design is not just about aesthetic components, but how buildings perform for people. The AIA Framework for Design Excellence is made up of 10 measures, formerly known as the COTE Top Ten. It organizes our thinking, facilitates conversations with our clients and the communities we serve, and sets meaningful goals and targets for climate action. This webinar will cover the Designing for Integration measure. Beauty and delight can no longer be divorced from environmental performance. California’s building sector must meet a carbon-neutral future by 2045 and the design of our built environment will need to adapt; design teams will need to learn from other disciplines as well as adaptively reuse buildings, incorporate renewable energy and strengthen communities through social equity. Brooks + Scarpa will present four case studies that vary in building type, cost, location and use.
