Putting the DESIGN back into Daylighting Design Analysis

Description:

Optimizing daylighting with thoughtful glare control, lighting design, and lighting controls
contributes to energy efficiency, but what else can it do? This class examines current best
practices in daylighting and explores what factors are most meaningful in supporting visual
comfort, satisfaction, emotion, health, and productivity for occupants. A discussion of several
metrics to guide the building and spatial design process using a range of metrics and analysis
approaches will be included. The course will also discuss the capabilities of several annual climate
based daylighting software platforms, and will include a live software demo. This class qualifies for
3.0 CEU for AIA HSW.
