BAR Interiors is seeking a talented and passionate Intermediate Interior Designer with multifamily experience who exhibits boldness, innovates with purpose, practices environmental stewardship, and always engages in a collaborative, inclusive design process. The focus of the role will be primarily urban multifamily and affordable housing projects but will on occasion include jumping in to assist on high-end residential and hospitality projects. We design unique residential and hospitality influenced interior experiences for exciting projects of all scales.

Qualifications and Experience Desired:

  • 5-7+ years of experience
  • Strong design portfolio and a passion for residential interior design
  • Proven ability to design, document and execute high level design projects, both in collaboration with and independent of an architecture studio
  • Understanding of the architectural design process and integration of interior design concepts
  • Experience evaluating, selecting, and applying advanced design and technical methods, with responsibility for project assignments including brand positioning, programming, design development, production and coordination through construction documents and construction administration
  • Strong competency in interior design specifications and industry standards, and familiarity with accessibility codes a plus.
  • Able to work easily independently and alongside team to meet budget and schedule
  • Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to acquire and share knowledge
  • Strong interest in educating and mentoring younger team members
  • Excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills
  • Proficiency with Sketch-up, Adobe CS, AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Suite; Lumion is a plus
  • StudioDesigner/SpecSources/any other purchasing software strongly preferred
  • Sustainability accreditation highly desired
  • A professional degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related discipline
