Cary Bernstein Architect, an award-winning San Francisco-based architecture firm, is seeking to hire a talented and motivated Intermediate Design Associate.  The firm is known for site-specific, sustainable modern design with clarity of form, excellence in detail, and copious use of natural light. Located in Dogpatch and overlooking Pier 70, our bright, sunny studio is in the heart SF’s most exciting neighborhood.

Projects include commercial, civic, and residential commissions in San Francisco and around the Bay Area. Staff participates in the design and construction administration process, from conception through completion.  The firm’s work is regularly exhibited and published locally, nationally and internationally. The position includes full benefits and a 401K plan. While employed at the firm, licensure candidates are reimbursed for exam fees for each section passed.

Qualified Candidates:

-are located in San Francisco or the Bay Area

-have US residency or a permanent work visa

-have a professional architectural degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience

-are passionate about construction detailing

-have excellent design, organizational and problem-solving skills

-can work independently and on multiple projects concurrently

-have excellent written and verbal communication skills

-are experienced in all aspects of design, documentation and construction

-are proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-Up, and Microsoft Office
