About the Position

Dumican Mosey Architects is looking for a Project Architect to join our team, build upon our award-winning portfolio of modernist projects, and help lead the firm into the future. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading clients and project teams in creating superlative single-family residences.  The individual should possess strong leadership skills, represent & contribute to the firm’s reputation, improve & elevate the performance of the team and others, act as a resource and mentor, and exercise sound judgement.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:  A Professional Degree in Architecture

Experience: 

  • 10-15 years of experience with an architectural firm
  • Role of Project Architect or Project Manager for at least two complete projects from project initiation through construction
  • Professional Licensure complete, in-progress, or equivalent registration
  • Familiarity with high-end residential projects and experience in San Francisco is a plus

Technical Skills:

  • A technical knowledge of residential development and construction that is both deep and wide
  • Strong working knowledge of the California Building Code and applicable local codes, and the ability to implement thoughtful design responses that satisfy these requirements
  • Competency in producing effective construction documents and navigating the approval processes
  • Familiarity of the Construction Phase and the associated contractual responsibilities, documents, and processes
  • Ability to effectively communicate through verbal, written, and graphic means

  • A foundational commitment to high quality work and positive outcomes
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.  The ability to manage one’s own time and that of the project team
  • Strong ability to assess, problem solve, and execute
  • Experienced ‘eye’ for Modern design and details
  • Sound judgement & leadership

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Project management
  • Client management
  • Project design
  • Code research and managing project approvals
  • Development of project documents at all stages of development
  • Construction administration and observation
  • Office operations and initiatives (assistance with special projects to enhance the firm operations and management)
  • Business Development/Marketing and Public Relationships (assistance with special projects and coordination of awards, publications, articles, proposals, interviews, etc.)
