Hawkins Interiors is a busy Interior design studio located in Napa, focusing on high-end residential projects and wineries. We are currently looking for an experienced Intermediate Interior Designer who shares a love of design as much as we do. The Intermediate Interior Designer will join our small team and will be working with the Principal and Design Director on multiple projects. The position will also involve assisting the Principal and Design Director as needed. At the moment, our team is part-time from home and remains fully connected on projects using video calls, phone, texts, and email with the remaining days working in the office.

 

Responsibilities

Responsible for design, presentation, and drafting on high-end residential and hospitality/winery interior design projects. Works in a team and may work directly with the principal or design director to plan, design, and furnish interiors.

  • Lead interior design assignments that include conceptual design, schematic design, design development & construction documents/specifications/purchasing in collaboration with senior and junior staff
  • Develop and deliver graphic presentation materials and design documentation for interior design, including presentations and materials samples
  • Research, select, and document the overall interiors package – writing specifications and purchase orders
  • Concept/style development
  • Color palette development
  • Interior finish material selection – furniture and fabric selection
  • Assist with design/remodel process – sourcing, implementation, and installation
  • Fixture and equipment selection
  • Interface with vendors, sales representatives, craftspeople Correspond with vendors regarding orders and order follow up as well as sample requests
  • Create budgets, proposals, schedules

 

Requirements

Must be highly proficient in:

  • AutoCAD, MS Word and Excel, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign
  • Interior Design degree preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of professional design experience
  • Knowledge of SFDC, design and furniture industry essential
  • Able to begin working remotely; might have the option to work onsite in Napa in the future
  • Have a reliable car that can be used for work, auto insurance and a valid driver license. Mileage reimbursed.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and transport design materials up to 40 lbs.
