Project Architect (or Coordinator)

LPAS Architecture + Design is looking for the best talent to work on some of the best projects in California. Making Buildings Together is our philosophy and commitment to providing our clients with the best working experience and designs.  We are a true community of passionate specialists, brought together by our commitment of providing exceptional design solutions for top clients, in addition to providing rewarding and creative work for our staff.  We are a Certified Great Place to Work and are #8 (and the only architectural firm) on Fortune’s 100 Best Small Companies in the Nation for 2020.

We are looking for technically strong Project Architects/Coordinators, working out of either our Sacramento or San Francisco office, to successfully manage and deliver high-visibility, high-design Multi-Family Housing, Higher Education or other related project types.  Qualified candidates will possess design experience, solid knowledge of built projects, the ability to develop CDs, coordinate and evaluate disciplines, and possess a comprehensive understanding of current codes and construction practices.

We’re looking for individuals with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on project experience contributing to and overseeing the above project types, and who have a solid work history of putting projects together and adept at carrying the building design intent through construction administration.  Experience with, or interest in, Lean Construction is highly desirable.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s and/or a Master’s Degree in Architecture with a strong preference for licensed architects, although we will consider qualified unlicensed individuals. Fluency in Revit is required as these positions are on the board in addition to providing project oversight.  Candidates must be detail-oriented with strong technical skills, knowledgeable of construction costs and codes, and have a solid knowledge of engineering and environmental disciplines to support coordination and evaluation of the work done by external consultants.  Experience with contractor coordination and construction administration for various construction processes and delivery systems is desired.

We are currently working a hybrid schedule and offer flexible work hours on a regular basis. You also won’t find high cubicle walls in our offices or people working in a vacuum.  What you will find are hard-working folks who like to have fun while sharing information and their expertise, with an occasional bark of a dog and outburst of laughter, and Friday afternoons off!  Come join us and experience all this with fantastic benefits, awesome projects, and the ability to grow in your career!  Check us out at to see what we’re all about, and complete our on-line application.
