Zack/de Vito Architecture + Construction is a multi-disciplinary, design oriented firm working on architecture, interiors, DesignBuild and development projects. We have a staff of 10 people split between the office and the field, including architects, project manager/estimators, supervisors and carpenters.   Our work is detail and construction oriented, modern in attitude and execution.  We are actively involved in construction providing DesignBuild services for select client projects and our own residential development, working hand-in-hand with the architecture office. Current projects include custom homes, small multi-family housing, offices and restaurant projects.

Position- Architectural Interiors Manager

We Need
An enthusiastic person with 3 to 8 years + experience working on architecture and/or interior design for residential or light commercial projects, with demonstrated competence in design.  The primary responsibilities of this position are to assist the Project Architect on interior design focusing on kitchens, bathrooms and other finish/fixture intensive spaces, as well as a focus on the design, selection and specification of finishes, fixtures, furnishings, etc. on most of our projects.   We often design and fabricate custom furniture and fixtures as well.

Your role will include primary responsibility for selections of material, finishes and fixtures on most projects office wide.

On our DesignBuild projects you will also assist the construction project managers in sourcing and ordering materials.  The goal is for you to become the office expert in designing, selecting, sourcing and ordering finishes, plumbing and lighting fixtures, appliances, hardware, etc.   You will have direct interaction with clients in assisting them in making selections.    We want you to become expert at helping define the ZdV look and feel, to manage our data base of sources and material library.

You will also provide general drafting and drawing support on projects, often with a focus on the interior elevations and finish details  You will also be responsible for assembling Project Manuals with specification information.

We value people who are self-motivated and able to work independently. Junior staff typical evolve quickly to managing smaller project.  Our office and project style promote high degrees of independence.

This is an ideal position for a young architect with an interest in interiors, finishes, etc. an  interior designer with an interest in architecture  could also fit, as long as you can help produce CAD drawings.

Your Qualifications and Interests
• Degree in Architecture or a related field such as interior design.
• Experience or a deep interest in interior design, materials, finishes, etc.
• Demonstrated experience helping to produce design and construction documents
• Experience working with clients, consultants, vendors, etc.
• Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Ideally you have some experience in San Francisco or Bay Area offices
• We are a Mac office, so familiarity with Mac applications would be ideal.  We are currently using   Vector Works  2020 & 2022 and we are also using ArchiCAD.  Ideally you will have 3D skills, Sketch Up or Vectorworks 3D, etc.  We are and willing and able to train you as needed.

We are looking for a good fit more than an immediate hire, and are flexible on the amount of experience you have, as long as you can demonstrate excellence, though we see this as an intermediate level position.
