The BAYA Knowledge Community connects designers, students and newly licensed architects for networking, volunteer opportunities and social events. With over 800 members, BAYA is the most active AIA committee for young architects nationwide. Our goal is to involve young architects – from graduation to licensure – with the architectural community.
Each month, a local architecture firm host gives a brief presentation of their work. The event serves two important purposes: it’s an opportunity for young architects to learn about the different practices in the city, and it’s a chance for the firms to meet and attract new talent. BAYA also organizes monthly mixers around the city and special events throughout the year.
Bay Area Young Architects defines membership as all non-licensed professionals and architects licensed for less than 10 years in the Bay Area, whether or not they are a registered member of a local AIA chapter. BAYA events are open to everyone engaged in the architecture profession.
