Announcing the 21st Annual Architecture + the City Festival and the First Anniversary of the Center for A+D.

(San Francisco, CA) – The Center for Architecture + Design, in collaboration with AIA San Francisco (AIASF), is pleased to announce the 21st Annual Architecture + the City Festival from September 5-27. The month-long architectural festival showcases San Francisco's diverse and vibrant architectural landscape through 30+ programs, including behind-the-scenes events, tours, author talks, film screenings, and more.

This year’s Festival coincides with a special milestone—the first anniversary of the Center for Architecture + Design opening. To celebrate, a soirée will be held on Thursday, September 5. The soirée marks the start of the Festival and a year of successful programming and community engagement at the new Center. Attendees will mingle with architects, designers, and enthusiasts while enjoying an entertaining night of music, food, drinks, art, and culture. The evening will also preview DESIGN + THE CITY, an exhibit curated by renowned designer Kit Hinrichs featuring one-of-a-kind, limited edition works by notable Bay Area artists. The artwork will be auctioned off to raise funds to support the Center’s expansion of public programming at the show's close on November 7, 2024.

As part of the celebration, the Center will unveil its newly installed donor wall, recognizing the generous sponsors and supporters who have made its vision a reality. We are incredibly grateful to Aidlin Darling Design and BCCI Construction, as well as the entire project team, whose contributions have helped establish the Center as a hub for architectural and design excellence.

“The first anniversary of the new Center for Architecture + Design is a testament to the vision and dedication that made this project a reality. Over the past year, the Center has become a vital space for architectural exploration and innovation, fostering community engagement and creativity downtown. The Festival is the perfect opportunity to reflect on our impact and celebrate this significant milestone,” said Stacy Williams, AIASF Executive Director.

Festival attendees can register for their favorite programs at archandcity.org.
