Studio Skaggs Kennedy is looking for a highly motivated and talented Architectural Designer with 3-6 years’ experience to join our studio! S_SK is a Berkeley, California based design practice for architecture and urbanism which has won multiple awards.
We are a design oriented architecture firm with a wide variety of challenging projects, including single-family & multi-family residential, mixed-use commercial, restaurant and civic. We encourage concept ideas by all team members during the design process. We are located in a light filled studio in south Berkeley with its own outdoor space and is walkable from Ashby BART.
The Architectural Designer, with direction from one of the Studio Principals, will work on all phases of projects, from conceptual design to construction administration. Ideal candidates for this position would have formal architectural training, exceptional design sense, strong graphic skills, sound technical skills, great communication skills and a deep understanding of all project phases. This position has a lot of potential for growth and career development. We are flexible on whether this is a full time or part-time position.
Qualifications:
- Professional degree in architecture
- Ability to prioritize workload, often working on multiple projects at a time
- Ability to work and complete tasks with minimal supervision, while also being able to judge when to seek guidance
- Proficiency in Revit is required
- Competence in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite & Microsoft Office
- Competence in 3D modeling and rendering, preferable in SketchUp, Enscape, Rhino, & Twin Motion
- Competent in physical model making, 3d printing / laser cutting experience a plus
- Experience preparing construction drawings
- This position requires applicants to be currently located in the San Francisco Bay Area and authorized to work in the United States.
