Senior Architectural Designer (TEF Design)
TEF Design is a San Francisco based, award-winning design firm that provides architectural and interior design services for educational, civic, healthcare, infrastructure, private sector and workplace clients. We are a Just Organization and are committed to providing excellent design and service to our mission driven projects and clients.
As a firm of 50, we have a small firm feel with large firm expertise and project range. We enjoy learning from the different typologies and unique design challenges, and have developed deep expertise in certain project types.
The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter with ten or more years of professional experience designing complex project types. Ground up work experience is a major plus. The architects on our staff exhibit design strength, technical expertise, strong management and communication skills. You will work in an interactive team environment, and may also run your own smaller projects, with a focus on nimbly developing design solutions specific to our client’s vision and culture.
Assignments will range from programming and design studies to code analysis and detailed drawings. You will participate in all phases including concept design, schematic, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
This position will have the opportunity to present to the client, attend user meetings, and coordinate consultants. You will have the opportunity for growth and advancement.
At this time TEF Design is a hybrid workplace and we require staff to be in-person at our San Francisco office a minimum of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. There are occasional events and client meetings that may occur on Thursdays and Fridays.
Qualifications
- A professional degree in architecture; Masters degree preferred, but not required
- A California license to practice architecture – or at minimum, you are in the exam process
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, graphic and visualization
- Technical proficiency in Revit, Sketch-up, InDesign, Enscape3D , Adobe suite
- Ability to work independently and balance needs of multiple projects
- A key attribute is the ability to collaborate well and work as part of a larger design team
- Be very well-organized and eager to learn more and go beyond.
Compensation TEF offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation package, including health benefits, disability insurance, 401k retirement plan with company match, vacation, sick leave, tax deferred Clipper Card program, and discretionary performance bonuses.
The salary range is approximately $110,000 - $140,000 depending on experience.
