Volunteers help to make our work possible. You don't need to be an architect to get involved at AIASF – we engage countless Bay Area design enthusiasts each year to help spread the message about the local architecture and design community. From the annual Design Awards Ceremony + Gala, the Architecture and the City festival, to the Home Tours series, there are many ways to get involved. Learn more about volunteer opportunities below.
Architecture + City festival
Celebrating San Francisco's unique built environment and design community, Architecture and the City is one of the first festivals of its kind to feature behind the scenes tours, films, exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and more. Presented in collaboration with over 100 partners throughout the city, the festival provides a broad spectrum of opportunities for the public to engage with the local architecture community and the built environment.
San Francisco Living: Home Tours
The San Francisco Living: Home Tours series provides visitors with the exclusive opportunity to see some of the Bay Area's most cutting-edge residential projects from the inside out, meet design teams, learn more about the design process, explore housing trends and discover innovative design solutions that illustrate the positive impact of great design.
Annual Member Party
The Annual Member Party brings together members, partners, volunteers, sponsors, and industry leaders for an evening of celebration and to recognize those who contribute to the organization's success.
AIA San Francisco’s annual Design Awards program recognizes outstanding achievements in architecture and design from Bay Area individuals and organizations. Award winners are announced and celebrated at the Design Awards Gala, held annually in April.
The Symposium Series provides the opportunity to have ongoing conversations about specific practice areas within the design built communities. From equitable and sustainable innovations to technological tools for change, the Symposium Series aims to create inspiring and empowering experiences, feature interactive and engaging learning, and showcase fresh content on emerging trends as part of the local effort towards a sustainable future. Be part of these discussions and explore ideas that bridge our industry with the communities in which we live and work.
