The Pacific converted a former office building and parking lots into a new condominium building and townhouses. The existing building's heavy concrete façade was replaced with glass and metal, portions of which extend past the façade. The townhouses relate to the local context, but visually tie into the main building.
This post-modern retrofit complements the original concrete structure by inserting dynamic windows to accommodate the residential use. The polyhedral bay windows enliven the façade and reflect shards of the city surrounding. The combination of faceted and flat bays gives this strong existing building structure a degree of contemporary playfulness.
