The Center for Architecture + Design, in collaboration with the American Institute of Architects, San Francisco, is pleased to announce the 19th annual Architecture + the City Festival, taking place September 12-23, 2022. One of the nation’s most anticipated architecture events, the Festival—which celebrates the San Francisco Bay Area’s unique built environment and design community—will feature a diverse schedule of conversations, an authors showcase, project, studio and walking tours, an interactive “steep urbanist” experience, and the return to in-person attendance of the perennial crowd favorite, Home Tours.

This year’s Festival will cover a wide range of topics, including architecture as art, climate anxiety, achieving real quality and value in new housing, the evolution of the urban waterfront, building resilient multi-generational housing, promoting neighborhood connectivity, spaces for modern-day makers, new financing structures for permanent supportive housing, pushing Filipinx creativity forward, wayfinding for the future of hybrid work, and more.
