2020 A+C Festival | Flight Path: Designing New Airport
<< All Events2020 A+C Festival | Flight Path: Designing New Airport
What’s the future of airports in the age of a global pandemic? How are architects and designers creating new airport experiences? How can San Francisco International Airport (SFO) pave a path to the future?
Airports are among the most complex building typologies which over the decades have become nearly self-contained mini-cities. “Flight Path” looks at how architecture and interior design shape the human experience of airports, primarily at SFO. In its 93-year history, SFO has evolved from what was originally planned as a temporary, experimental airport in 1927 to the largest airport in the San Francisco Bay Area, and a pioneering global travel hub in the 21st century, at once international and infused with regional culture.
Join panelists Ryan Fetters, RA, LEED AP, principal and design director, Gensler; William S.
