The Cheech: Art, Community and Rehabilitation
<< All EventsThe Cheech: Art, Community and Rehabilitation
The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art and Culture, which debuted in June of this year, is the first museum dedicated to showcasing Chicano art and culture. A game changer for Chicano artists and the Riverside community at large, The Cheech engages the community, promotes inclusivity, and reactivates the landmark building as a cultural center.
As part of other Latinx Heritage Month events throughout the City, this moderated panel discussion will introduce The Cheech Center for Chicano Art and Culture to the Bay Area Community. We showcase how the project team balanced the preservation of a local landmark while reimagining the building for its new identity as The Cheech; and will follow by a discussion highlighting the community outreach that built support for the project, promoted inclusivity, and ultimately reactivated the building as a new and vital cultural center.
NOTE:Â Autodesk requires a list of attendees 72 hours prior to the event;Â register by EOD on Monday, 10/10
