2022 Interior Architecture Merit Award
After over 140 years of use and neglect, a Victorian house in St. Helena is transformed into the Faust Haus. The home’s latent spirit is uncovered through restoration, structural upgrade, and interplay between old and new. The result re-imagines the typical monolithic wine tasting experience, facilitating a relaxed domesticated experience.
The jury loved this thoughtful adaptive reuse of a historic structure. The result is an unforgettable project, where an amazing and ever-evolving narrative of light and design interventions unfold as one ascends through the space.
