A distinguished panel of experts will engage in a dynamic dialogue regarding the future landscape of design and construction, aiming to amplify cross-collaboration and cultivate robust work relationships. Our discussions will revolve around the transformative impact of technology on architectural education, with a keen focus on narrowing industry skill gaps.
We will explore the evolving role of technology in reshaping architectural education, addressing issues of equitable access and skill development within the industry. In particular, our conversation will delve into how cutting-edge design technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), Virtual/Augmented Reality (VR/AR), and Generative Design are being harnessed in professional practice to elevate project delivery, ensuring both equity and excellence.
Additionally, our spotlight will be on emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), and innovative startups, each contributing to the promising contours of an inclusive architectural future. The discussion will pivot to real-life examples showcasing client relationships and architectural outcomes propelled by technology, with a deliberate emphasis on fostering equitable results and embracing inclusivity.
Learning Objectives (6 LU)
1 - Attendees will be able to identify AEC emerging technologies for integration into the education realm of the industry.
2 - Attendees will be able to define and compare the challenges of applying technology within diverse practices, with equitable access in mind for the entire industry.
3 - Attendees will be able to envision coming changes in technology for implementation in architecture project delivery.
4 - Attendees will be able to articulate essential technology advancements needed for advancing design and construction workflows.
